US PI Judy Brown, Frost Science, UK Co-I Sara Price, University College London and project evaluator Cathy Ringstaff, WestED, presented ’Understanding the Role of Embodied Interaction in Children’s Learning about Science in ISL Settings’ at the American Psychological Association annual conference in San Francisco on August 12, 2018. The symposium described the formation of an international community of early learning informal science practitioners and researchers, working together to develop new validated observation tools and techniques for investigating embodied learning in informal settings. The session included an overview of the context in which this work is being conducted, the design-based methodology employed, and challenges and lessons learned to date.
