Raquel has over 30 years of experience working in early childhood education. She is National Board Certified in Early Childhood. She received her doctorate from Florida International University researching the role of language in early childhood mathematics. Prior to her appointment as Professor in Residence for the University of Florida, Raquel served as the Early Childhood Project Coordinator at Frost Science to develop an early childhood science curriculum. She has taught graduate courses in Curriculum & Instruction and served as a portfolio coach to help teachers earn their graduate degrees.
Currently, she is a Learning Networks Manager, managing several projects across the United States in Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, and California, and is highly involved in engaging adult learners and in cultivating professional learning communities. She serves on several boards, including an executive board member for School Reform Initiative.
