Donna DiBartolomeo leads the exhibits and facilities team at Sciencenter, a hands-on, interactive museum in Ithaca, NY. Donna has over 15 years experience working in museums. She has extensive experience communicating science to public audiences through exhibits and programs. Prior to taking on the role of Director of Exhibits at Sciencenter, Donna developed and managed exhibits and partnership programs at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Donna has lectured internationally on best practices in exhibit development and presentation. Donna’s research interests include interdisciplinary education, particularly intersections in art and science, and learning in informal settings. Donna’s interest in science communication is grounded in cognitive science and constructivist learning theory, with a primary goal of developing effective educational models based on how people understand and learn. Donna received her formal training from Carnegie Mellon University (BFA) and Harvard Graduate School of Education (EdM).
