During the convening participants were divided into research practice teams of 3-4 individuals and tasked with the challenge of developing a research design scenario based on a research question of interest to the group that examined the role of bodily engagement with young learners in informal settings. Each group was asked to describe a detailed study design that could feasibly be conducted at an informal science learning institution (e.g., museum). It was suggested they begin with exhibits and informal learning experiences that already existed, either at their institution or one that participants knew well.
